Your First Appointment
This is the most important part of your care. Without an accurate diagnosis, we cannot
offer viable solutions. To arrive at an accurate diagnosis you must have:
New Patient
- An interview with Dr. Guidry to discuss your present concerns, medical history,
dental history, and treatment expectations.
- A visual examination to include: cancer examination and condition of the soft
tissue of the mouth, tongue, and cheeks. The condition of periodontal
structures, teeth, fillings, crowns, bridgework, and partial dentures is recorded.
- An evaluation of the bite and Temperomandibular Joints (TMJ) and pertinent
history.
- Full mouth X-ray.
- Panoramic X-ray.
- Intraoral photographs.
Based upon the information gained in the above process, Dr. Guidry will prepare a
typewritten summary for review at your next appointment.
Your Second Appointment
You and Dr. Guidry will discuss the clinical findings, diagnosis, and treatment
recommendations. The objective is to:
- Free your mouth of disease and any materials or procedures that may have a
negative effect upon your immune system.
- Develop a plan to restore your mouth to as near normal as possible so you may
have a nice looking, healthy, comfortable and functional mouth for a lifetime.
