About Dr. Guidry
My name is Dr. John C. Guidry and I am excited to let you know that I have
acquired the dental practice of Dr. M.A. McRedmond. Dr. McRedmond and
I are firm believers that “health is of infinite value” to our patients and to
all. My mission is to enhance the quality of life of those I serve by providing
my patients with information to help them make the choices that will have a
positive effect on their dental health.
I am from Rayne, LA, a small town near Lafayette, LA, and I attended the
University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette where I received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. I moved to New
Orleans in 1984 and continued my education at Louisiana State University
Medical Center School of Dentistry. After graduating in 1987, I remained in
the New Orleans area for two years where I practiced dentistry in two
progressive dental practices.
In 1989, I acquired a dental office in Scott, LA, and practiced General
Dentistry in Scott, LA for 11 years before deciding to continue my
education. In 1998, I accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning at the University of Texas Health
Science Center Dental School and began my graduate studies in Oral and
Maxillofacial Radiology. In December 2000, I received a certificate in
Dental Diagnostic Science, Oral Maxillofacial Radiology. I continued to
earn a Master of Science degree in Dental Diagnostic Science, Oral
Maxillofacial Radiology in 2004. In that same year, I became Board
Certified and was awarded the honor of Diplomate in the American Board
of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. I continue to enjoy sharing my
knowledge and experience with dental students through my continued
involvement as Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health
Science Center Dental School.
I have two daughters, Jenica, who is 16 and Celise, who is 13. Although
they reside with their mother in Louisiana, they enjoy their frequent visits to
San Antonio exploring the Riverwalk with me! I also enjoy photography,
computers, watching movies, reading and physical exercise in my spare
time!
I look forward to providing you with the exceptional dental care you deserve
along with the honesty and integrity you would expect from a health
professional.
